Privacy Policy

Brisk helps you decide when it’s good to be outside by combining local environmental conditions into a single score. This policy explains what data Brisk uses and how.
The short version
- Brisk has no accounts — we never ask for your name, email, or a password.
- Your location stays on your device; only a coarse, rounded position is sent to fetch local conditions, and it is never tied to your identity.
- We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
- Brisk is not a health, medical, or safety app.
Information Brisk uses
Location. With your permission, Brisk uses your approximate location to fetch conditions for where you are. Coordinates are rounded (to roughly a 1 km area) before being sent to our servers to retrieve a forecast, and are not stored alongside any identifier. You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings and enter a location manually instead.
A random device identifier. Brisk generates a random identifier for your device so it can deliver notifications and remember your Brisk+ subscription status. It is not linked to your name or Apple ID and is not used for advertising.
Notifications. If you enable proactive alerts, Apple provides Brisk a push token for your device so we can send window and alert notifications.
Subscriptions. Brisk+ is purchased through Apple. Apple processes payment; Brisk receives only your subscription status (active or expired), never your payment details.
Diagnostics and analytics. To keep Brisk reliable, we collect crash reports and a small amount of non-personal usage information (for example, that a forecast failed to load) through Sentry, configured to exclude personal information.
Weather and environmental data sources
Brisk does not measure conditions itself — it synthesizes data from third-party providers:
- Weather (temperature, UV, precipitation): Apple Weather (Apple WeatherKit).
- Air quality: AirNow (U.S. EPA) and Google Air Quality.
- Pollen: Google Pollen.
Weather data is provided by Apple Weather. Other data sources.
How Brisk uses information
We use the information above only to provide the score and window, deliver the notifications you enable, maintain your subscription, and diagnose problems. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers listed above — to fetch conditions, deliver notifications, process subscriptions, and collect diagnostics — and as required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
Forecast data is cached briefly to reduce network use and cost. The random device identifier persists while you use Brisk; uninstalling the app removes data stored on your device.
Your choices
- Turn location access on or off in iOS Settings.
- Turn notifications on or off.
- Manage or cancel Brisk+ in the App Store.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA or UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Because Brisk holds no account and no directly identifying information, most data is not linked to you. Contact us at support@trybrisk.app with any request.
Children
Brisk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above will change, and material changes will be surfaced in the app.
